Novosibirsk Airport certified to the International ISO 9001:2008 standard
NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport successfully completed certification process of its quality management system. According to the results of the audit conducted at the end of October 2013 by the International Certification Center Bureau Veritas Certification, the operations of Novosibirsk Tolmachevo airport comply with ISO 9001:2008 and GOST ISO 9001-2011 standards.
The enterprise was audited in the following areas: passenger and baggage services; cargo and mail handling; aircraft operations technical and ground handling services; provision of aeronautical information; aviation safety assurance; airfield maintenance; electrical technical and lighting flight support; search-and-rescue, emergency and fire-protection capabilities.
Following the inspection results, the auditors marked several strong points within production activity of the airport such as high qualification of the personnel, introduction of the innovative technologies, modernization and reconstruction of operations facilities.
Availability of the certified management system verifies high level of operational organization at Novosibirsk Tolmachevo airport and quality of the services offered as well as it allows to make the enterprise more attractive for potential investors and improve its image among foreign and national partners.
Following its short-term plans, NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport expects to pass IATA Safety Audit for Ground Operations (ISAGO).
NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport is the largest air hub in Russia east of the Urals on major transit routes between Europe and Asia. The domestic terminal capacity makes up to 1,800 passengers per hour, while the capacity on international flights – up to 750 passengers per hour. The airport has two runways. In 2013 it expects to serve over 3.7 million passengers.
