Eurasian Air Hub project was presented at the international festival in Minsk by NOSOVIBIRSK International Airport
NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport became a prize winner of the Territorial Marketing and Branding International Festival OPEN held from 20th to 21st June in Minsk (Belarus).
Alongside with the airport of Novosibirsk with its project Siberian Hub for Eurasia, the contest programme of the festival comprised 37 projects from the developers of the territorial brands from Russia, Ukraine, Bulgaria and Belarus.
The air hub of Novosibirsk has high potential and the unique proposition for servicing connecting flights between countries of Europe, Central and South East Asia, while today air transportation between certain destinations is being provided via Moscow. Besides substantial reduction of travel time, such organization of air traffic will significantly cut air fares. Furthermore, positioning of Novosibirsk airport as the advantageous air hub on the Eurasian routes will stimulate development of tourism industry in Siberia while Novosibirsk will serve as the most accessible Russian point of entry for international tourists travelling across the Asian part of the country.
The contest jury highly appreciated Siberian Hub for Eurasia project presented by NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport and awarded it second place in the nomination “Brand of tourist object. Buildings and constructions”.
NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport is the largest air hub of Russia east of the Urals on major transit routes between Europe and Asia. The domestic airline capacity makes up 1,800 passengers per hour, on international flights – 750 passengers per hour. The airport has two runways. In 2013 it expects to serve over 3.7 million passengers and handle over 35 thousand tons of cargo and mail.
Territorial marketing and branding international festival OPEN 2013 is the annual international forum held in Minsk for the second time. The Festival’s mission is to conduct cultural dialogue through integration of the world’s experience in territorial and country branding and marketing field. The event’s programme provides conferences and master classes in the sphere of country marketing and branding with reports of the leading experts. The contest part of the Festival includes presentations by the participants and defence of their projects to the international jury members.
