NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport presented its transfer opportunities
NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport presented its development model for regional air traffic and tourist flows by applying transfer technologies at SITT/TourSib 2013 exhibition.
As a part of the trade show hosted by Novosibirsk Expocentre from 10th to 12th April, the airport introduced the stand demonstrating the route map of the largest transfer air hub in Siberia intersected with numerous air traffic routes between Asia, Europe and North America.
Within frameworks of the exhibition, the airport organized a round table discussion which was attended by professional tourism society experts, local authority representatives, the Russian and foreign airports and airlines as well as hotel business delegates. The discussion highlighted the issues of aviation and travel industry cooperation as well as transfer air carriage development prospects.
The Commercial Director of the airport Gregory Pomerantsev noted that NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport is an accessible Russian point of entry for international and local tourists traveling across Siberia. The Novosibirsk airport created all conditions necessary for flight connection, thus, ensuring transportation between several Siberian cities currently linked via Moscow. Besides considerable reduction of travel time, such model of domestic air traffic could substantially facilitate optimization of air fare.
NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport is the largest air hub east of the Urals on major transit routes between Europe and Asia. The domestic airline capacity makes up 1,800 passengers per hour, on international flights – 750 passengers per hour. The airport has two runways. In 2013 it expects to serve over 3.7 million passengers and handle over 35 thousand tons of cargo and mail.
SITT/TourSib is the largest showgrounds for recent trends in the sphere of tourism industry in Siberia and tourist services promotion held since 1989. In 2013 the event attracted over 200 participants including travel agencies and tourist associations, hotel chains, airlines and airports as well as local authorities delegates and embassies of the countries developing resort and tourism industries.
