Railway Connection between Krasnoyarsk and Novosibirsk Airport
Since March 3, 2015, a passenger train №137 from Krasnoyarsk to Moscow stops at the Ob railway station, located near the NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport. Thus, passengers from Krasnoyarsk, Achinsk, Mariinsky, Taiga and other cities located on the route of the train are able to arrive at the airport on time and not to be afraid to miss the flight, regardless of the situation on the roads.
Passengers travelling by train are able to take advantage of a convenient free bus shuttle transfer from Ob railway station to the Novosibirsk airport. In addition, shuttle service from Ob station became in demand among residents of the Novosibirsk city getting to the airport by all existing commuter trains of the Western direction.
As reference, in autumn 2014, NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport in cooperation with Express-Prigorod, Omsk-Prigorod and the Federal Passenger Company launched a project aimed at improving of transport accessibility of the Novosibirsk airport and the Novosibirsk city.
Since the beginning of 2015 the number of trains making stops at the Ob railway station is increasing constantly and already includes such destinations as Novokuznetsk, Omsk, Kemerovo, Tomsk and Kulunda.
Passengers can get a professional consultation concerning railway communication between the airport, Novosibirsk and the largest cities of Siberia, as well as buy tickets for long-distance trains, electric trains and intercity buses on the ground floor of Terminal A in the service center of the West Siberian branch of Federal Passenger Company.
NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport is largest air hub in Russia east of the Urals on major transit routes between Europe and Asia. The capacity of domestic terminal makes up to 1,800 passengers per hour, while the international terminal capacity – up to 750 passengers per hour. The airport has two runways of ICAO I and II Categories. In 2014 the passenger traffic exceeded 3.9 mln passengers and cargo traffic totalled 28.6 thousand tons of cargo and mail handled.
